Contractor Website Design · Knoxville, TN

Contractor
Website Design
in Knoxville.

Your work is great — your site should match. The Knoxville homeowner deciding between you and two other names can't see your craftsmanship; they see your website. Right now it's losing you jobs you should be winning. We build the one that closes.

Contractor website design for Knoxville and East Tennessee, hand-coded to close the job — not just to get found.

A contractor leaning against a fence scrolling his phone while his crew works hard behind him

"You wouldn't let this guy anywhere near your jobsite.
So why does your website look like he built it?"

You Got Found.
Now You Have
to Close.

You searched for contractor website design in Knoxville because something online isn't working — and you assume the fix is to rank higher. It's not. Ranking isn't your problem; conversion is. You get work two ways now: referrals, and search through your Google Business Profile. The organic ranking everyone chased for a decade is gone — there's nothing left there worth winning.

The hard half is what happens after someone lands on your site. They weigh you against two other names and decide in seconds. A site built to rank but not to close loses that moment — and the job goes to a contractor whose work is worse than yours, but whose site looked the part.

of customers research online before they hire — on a job worth thousands, your site is the last thing they check before they call. Or don't.

Put those two numbers together and the job is obvious. Your site isn't here to rank for strangers — it's here to close the people your reputation already sent. A site that does anything less is leaking jobs. That's the whole game now.

Is Your Site
Leaking Jobs?

Pull up your own site and hold it against the three things every converting site gets right:

01

Your reviews hit a visitor near the top of the page — not buried in the footer.

02

The copy talks to the customer about five times more than it talks about you.

03

It's written to convince a homeowner — not stuffed with keywords for Google.

Miss one and you've got a leak — jobs you earned slipping away while the site looks fine to you. This page passes the same check; until there are clients to call, that's the only proof that should count.

Do you have to be local to design my website?

Knoxville and East Tennessee is home, and it is where most of our contractor clients are, so you get a team that knows the local market. Contractor website design itself is location-agnostic: every conversation happens by phone and screen share, and the finished site lives on the same internet whether we are across town or across the state. We are based in Knoxville and also work with contractors beyond it.

Does ranking still matter with AI search?

Less than it used to. The old #1 spot is buried under ads, the map pack, and AI answers now, and your Google Business Profile does most of the work for discovery. We still build the SEO foundation properly — but the bigger lever today is conversion: closing the people who already found you. The full breakdown →

What makes your contractor website design different?

It's hand-coded, not WordPress or a template. You own every file the day it launches, and JW builds it start to finish. It runs inside one flat monthly plan alongside the Google Business Profile and reviews that get you found, and it's built to close the work you've already attracted — not to chase a ranking that no longer means what it used to.

Should I get a custom-coded site or a template like WordPress or Wix?

For a business that depends on the phone ringing, custom. Templates are faster and cheaper up front, but they load slower, look like a thousand other sites, and lock you into monthly fees and plugin upkeep. A hand-coded site is built around your trade and your customers, loads fast, and has nothing to break or patch. You pay a bit more once and own it outright.

Do I own my website?

Yes, completely. The code and the domain are yours the day it launches, not rented from a platform you can never leave. That is the opposite of most builders and template shops, where you stop paying and the site disappears along with your content and rankings.

How long does it take to build?

Usually two to four weeks, depending on how fast we get your photos and details and how quickly the review rounds go. You see it come together and approve it before anything goes live, with a round of revisions built in.

Do I need a new website, or can you fix the one I have?

We build new. Most contractor sites are slow template builds made to look fine rather than to close, and patching around them costs more than it is worth. A hand-coded site you own is the foundation the rest of your marketing stands on, so we start clean.

Will my new website show up on Google?

We build the SEO foundation properly, but the honest answer for a local business is that most of your calls come from the map pack, driven by your Google profile and reviews, not from the website ranking for your main service. The site is built to convert the people your profile brings, and the profile work is what gets you found.

Who writes the words on the site?

We do, in your voice. We pull the details from a short intake and the way you actually talk about the work, then write it on a framework that makes the customer the hero and you the guide. You review every word before it goes live.

Will my site work well on phones?

Yes, and that is where most of your customers are. Every site is built mobile-first and hand-coded to load fast on a phone in a truck, with click-to-call buttons where people actually tap. A slow, clunky mobile site quietly loses jobs, so we build for the phone first and the desktop second.

What happens to my website if I cancel?

You keep it. The code and the domain are yours from day one, so cancelling the monthly never costs you your site. The only thing that stops is the ongoing management: hosting, profile work, reviews, and reporting. It is month-to-month, no lock-in.
